Ana Hulshof - Consultancy on User Experience for Children

I have done expert evaluations including research on children development, their needs and preferences; analysis of systems based on existing guidelines; creation of personas, scenarios and analysis of interactions using cognitive walkthroughs. I’ve also worked with children on observation sessions, interviews, focus groups sessions, creation and analysis of cultural probes and card sorting as well as prototyping sessions.

I planned, conducted and analysed the data from user testing sessions of the children’s section of the British Museum website, Young Explorers.
Gemin-i Gemin-i (2010)

I conducted focus groups, interviews and remote design activities with students and teachers from several countries including the UK, US, India and Pakistan to inform the future version of the online learning community Rafi.ki.
CBeebies CBeebies (2010)

I worked as a consultant for CBeebies evaluating their website with children in school and home environments in order to identify usability issues, gather opinion and expectations to improve the user experience.
Kuju Entertainment

Kuju Entertainment (2009)

I worked for Kuju as a consultant on user experience, involving girls from the UK and US in the design process of the Wii game “Sleepover Party”, through interviews, focus groups, cultural probes and testing sessions.

Cbeebies

CBeebies (2008)

I had the pleasure of working as a consultant for the BBC evaluating existing interactive services, for digital TV and Web, and providing guidelines for future design.

Interactive Everywhere

Interactive Everywhere (2007-2009)

I worked as a research officer in the Interactive Everywhere project that facilitated the development of creative projects for context-aware technology. As part of the project I developed and implemented a RFID interactive audio journey at the Retracing Heinrich Barth exhibition at the Brunei Gallery in London.

Plug In Media (2008)

I contributed developing, conducting and analysing the data from testing sessions of the “Tales of 20th Century London”website aimed at children from 7 to 12 years old.

Arise

ARiSE Project (2008)

I provided assistance during user testing sessions in Šiauliai (Lithuania) for this European research project focused on augmented reality in school environments.
